not sure if they fixed this but when I picked up my 2014 1.6 tdci focus back when the new model came out the 115 1.6 had issues with it loosing power when pulling away. it was a common issue and was fixed via a software update a couple of weeks later. that was the only issue i had with the car for the 3 years i had it. 5 Oct 2016 at 20:22.

12 Answers. If the white smoke is from unburned fuel, it can be caused by any of the following. Low compression caused by worn or damaged piston rings, a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Poorly injected fuel caused by a faulty or leaking injector or from a faulty fuel pump.

#2 · Nov 11, 2018 Air in the fuel will prevent it from starting. You may need to bleed the injectors. You need to get someone to crank in short burts whilst you undo the injector pipe. Undo it slightly as they crank and then retighten. Repeat until fuel sprays out and then repeat for each injector.
Probably one or more glowplugs failed. I had that a few weeks ago. Below about 7C, It started fine, but gave clouds of smoke, and seemed like it was on two cylinders for about 10 sec, then it was fine once warmed up a bit.

Eg. Worn out carbon brushes or carbon brushes stuck so they don’t slide freely in the holders or the commutator is worn and needs the grooves recut. Common for these things years ago. Starter motors these days seem to last longer but the parts inside are the same as 50 years ago so in theory same faults can occur.
