The EGS is a standard manual type gearbox with sliding mesh synchromesh gears. Onto this is bolted a changing system which moves the selectors. The clutch is a standard friction clutch, although with a dual mass flywheel. It is operated by servo like the gearbox. A standard auto gearbox is a completely different type. The car has the EGS semi auto box, and will not change up in Auto and will only change to max of 3rd in manual. I believe this is the limp mode activating (please confirm). There are no nasty sounds from the box, which also changes down in auto fine and will change to higher gears if you put it in neutral first. Original gear shift knobs for your Citroën car.
